Default Effect for ALL Titles...

With the Lightbringer title and release of GW:EN, titles give a nifty buff depending on your rank. So why not all titles? If you spend a rather impressive amount of money (skill hunter) and time on acquiring the title, why not a small bonus for the effort? Nothing major.

Lightbringer reicives a bonus, so should it's sister title (imo), Sunspear.

Explorer - +5% Movement speed in towns/outpost.
Skill Hunter - Cheaper Capture Signets (not the best idea for this title)
Protector/Guardian - +5/10 armor bonus in titled region.
Vanquisher - +5% Damage in titled region
Survivor - +25/50/75hp (variant on rank)

I'm sure there are many more ideas out there.

As long as they don't stack and only apply when the title is checked (like Lightbringer) I actually wouldn't mind it.

Nothing ground-breaking of course.

as long as not in PvP. How about for elite skill hunters you get 10% resistance to boss attacks (aka they do 10% less), so if they deal 100 dmg, it deals 90.

How about removing the effects from the titles do that have them instead?

I prefer effects on titles remain limited to those with PvE skills attached. I sense a disturbance in the Force otherwise.

I personally like where you're going with this. Just the ideas for each title need to be worked on more.

I like this a lot personally. This does not give anyone an unfair advantage and rewards people for all that wall hugging.

With the recent abundance of title linked skills+effects in GW:EN the game has been on a sad turn from this simple idea that it started with... any more grind="everyone else is a noob" will make me put down gw

I don't necessarily understand where you're going with that.

If the titles alone are a display of skill>time, wouldn't the bonusses just be rewarding the players who used that skill to get the title in the first place?

I realize most of the bonus ideas I had were not very good, I was thinking of them while I was posting the thread.
Just a small something extra for those who worked to get the titles is all.

If you want to grind for bonuses, there are plenty of other MMO's to chose from.

/notsigned again for anything linked to survivor because there are those of us with characters who can never get it.

/signed i like the idea for the different title effects as long as theyre not over powered like that ursan blessing.

if they dont add effects to titles they should do something else because the titles are pretty useless...you can only use them in towns/outposts anyway once your in a match it really doesnt matter like Hero has the emotes thats really the only title worth having even if they dont have effects give them like an emote or something just something to make it significant in it's own way

Seeing as I'm closing in on Legendary Cartographer, I would like this idea a LOT. Maybe make it +5% for each continent you've explored, plus an extra 10% if you get Legendary. That would be +25%. Too bad it probably won't happen

Oh, and I don't like the original idea because you don't really need any more bonuses than what we already have. You weren't forced to grind for the titles you have, so you shouldn't expect any sort of benefit. Be grateful that some of them benefit you at all.

If you look at the titles, ONLY Grind titles have effects:
- Promotion and reputation titles, wisdom, treasure hunter, hero, etc.

Giving effects o the achievement ranks would be a mistake.

So, the only effects remaining, following this, would be drunkard and sweet tooth.
And the effect should be to inrease the duration of their respective consumables:
- Drunkar: Effects from drinks (including drunkeness) last 10% longer in rank 1, and 100% longer in rank 2.
- Sweet tooth: Effects from food (including sweets) last 10% in rank 1, and 100% longer in rank 2.

And done. Fair and square.
